The tales of fearless leadership during Scouting’s darkest days become legendary at this high-class roundup where the sharpest card-slingers enjoy duels for precious stones, one-of-a-kind auctions, and other exciting opportunities to support adventures for all young trailblazers in Southern Kansas.
The Honor Bash is Quivira Council Scouting America’s most exclusive fundraising event, featuring a fabulous dinner with adult beverages, live and silent auctions, and fun fellowship. Business leaders rally together to celebrate accomplished Honorees – Scouting alumni whose exemplary leadership have resulted in extraordinary services to Wichita and communities throughout Southern Kansas. The stories of these remarkable individuals and corporations highlight Kansas’ deeply rooted Scouting heritage and Scouting’s worthiness for meaningful financial support. The 2025 Honor Bash aims to celebrate four distinguished Honorees who have boldly contributed to the success of Scouting’s prevention programs and our city’s most vulnerable populations.
Mr. Craig Nelson & Conco Construction shall be awarded the North Star Award for their bold leadership of a one-of-a-kind benefit event to guide Quivira Council through the troubling waters of the BSA National lawsuit and the COVID pandemic.
The Bastian Family is to be recognized with the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award for providing life-sustaining resources to at-risk families and youth during four generations of leadership at Fidelity Bank.
Mr. Tom Morris shall be awarded the Outstanding Eagle Scout Award for demonstrating outstanding achievements in funeral services, exemplified in the caring service of preparing Fr. Emil Kapaun’s remains for burial upon their recent return home decades after the Korean War.
The proceeds from this event serve to deliver the resources necessary for bolstering membership in Scouting across 49 Southern Kansas counties. Spreading the values of the Scout Oath and Law ultimately reduce crime and poverty in our communities while cultivating future business pioneers, engaged citizens, thriving families, and a capable workforce.
