About
For over 100 years, the Order of the Arrow (OA) has recognized Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. This recognition provides encouragement for others to live these ideals as well. Arrowmen are known for maintaining camping traditions and spirit, promoting year-round and long term resident camping, and providing cheerful service to others. OA service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults are models of quality leadership development and programming that enrich and help to extend Scouting to America’s youth.

The Scouting adventure, camping trips, high-adventure excursions, and having fun are important to everyone in Scouting—and so is your safety and well-being. Completing the Annual Health and Medical Record is the first step in making sure you have a great Scouting experience. You can download a copy HERE.
The safety of our Scouts, volunteers, employees, and communities continues to be our top priority. We must continue our vigilance to assure that youth and their families are safe while they enjoy the many benefits of Scouting.
We continue to follow the guidance from expert agencies and follow the measures that have become second nature to many – hand hygiene, masks, distancing, meeting in cohorts and remaining at home if you have symptoms or feel bad.
We encourage everyone to consult with their physician and get vaccinated. It is our best hope for returning to normalcy in our Scouting family.
The critical need of today is for all to understand the rationale for our caution and actions. Because of the pandemic, fewer youth have joined our Movement. To welcome new members and their families, we must demonstrate that we are safe and are concerned with the health of all. The success of the Scouting program depends on conducting regular meetings and activities in a safe and responsible way.
As always, please be mindful of the Scout Oath and Law as we continue to navigate a safe return to the activities we enjoy.

OA Events
Dear Kansa Lodge,
Due to extremely serious heat safety concerns, the Ordeal/Brotherhood event planned for this weekend is being postponed until later this fall. It will now be held on the dates previously reserved for Fall Fellowship (Sept 29 – Oct 1). Correspondingly, Fall Fellowship will be held on a later weekend TBD. The National Weather Service has been increasing their forecast in both temperature and humidity, causing the resulting heat index to be in a range that we cannot ensure everyone’s safety.
We apologize for the short notice, and we realize this may cause scheduling conflicts with other events you might be planning for this fall. However, our highest priority is, and always be, the safety of everyone involved. We hope you can understand, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the rescheduled dates. This message is being sent to the entire lodge. However, please reach out to others you know who are registered to attend, as some might not have read their E-mails.
Those who are nearing their 18-month deadline on their Ordeal date, we have you covered. We will be extending those deadlines for those individuals to 2024 due to the circumstances. The 2024 Ordeal dates are: April 19th-21st at QSR and August 16th-18th (date may change to late fall) location TBD.
Registrations from this Ordeal will automatically transfer to the new date. If you would like to transfer registration to one of the 2024 dates or a refund please email D’Kolle and she can make the changes.
Yours In Brotherhood,
John Rongish, Lodge Chief
John Glenn, Lodge Advisor
Alex Schmitt, Staff Advisor
